You CAN'T be afraid to fail. Being afraid of failure can keep you from doing the things that you need to do in order to thrive. Even to live. You CAN NOT be afraid of failure. It is not an option that you have. People who are afraid to fail, often give up altogether, and don't even try.

You have to try, you have to give it your all, no matter what. You can't control the outcome, but you CAN do your best. Don't be afraid to fail. Because if you fail, so what? You can try again, and again, and again, until you reach the goal.
Walt Disney had multiple businesses that ended up in failure and bankruptcy. But, despite the setbacks, he kept on plugging along. By the time he died...he was worth 5 billion dollars.
The whole point is, being afraid of failure can prevent you from doing amazing things, so don't be afraid to fail, it will keep you back from so much.
Instead, learn to deal with failure. Failing teaches you, what not to do, and how to do better next time.
